Adult Summer Camp 2026

Fun, Friends, & Skill-Building in a Safe, Structured Environment

Looking for a fun, structured summer day camp where adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities can make friends, build social skills, and practice emotional regulation - in a safe, supportive and structured environment?

White Pines Academy’s Adult Summer Camp is Barrie’s BEST choice!

Every week features a different exciting theme - full of outdoor adventures, arts & crafts, delicious picnics, and meaningful activities designed just for you.  This is the place where you belong!

Fun Activities & Community Outings

Every week features a different exciting theme, so there’s always something fresh and fun to look forward to!

You’ll enjoy a variety of meaningful and exciting activities, including:

  • Swimming at Peggy Hill Team Community Centre
  • Fun visits to the Barrie Public Library
  • Beach days with barbecues and picnics right on the shore
  • Yoga and other activities at the park
  • Outdoor games, arts & crafts, music sessions, and various community outings

Why a Minimum of Two Weeks Makes a Difference

  • Comfortable Integration: The first week allows campers to become familiar with our daily routines, staff members, and physical environment. By the second week, many participants feel more at ease
  • Meaningful Relationships: Building genuine friendships takes time
  • Reduced Anxiety: Many individuals with autism benefit from routine and predictability

Additional Program Details

  • Staff-to-camper ratio: 1:3 to 1:5 (depending on needs) — we welcome all functioning levels.
  • Camper lunches must be sent daily.
  • Public transportation and community outing fees are paid by the camper.
  • Support available for individuals who require assistance with going to the washroom
  • Minimum enrollment: 3 students per week required for camp to run.

Meet & Greet / Intake Requirement

All students are required to attend a Meet & Greet session prior to attending Summer Camp. This session allows staff to review the intake forms, meet potential campers and their caregivers (if applicable), and ensure a good fit for the program.

Program Suitability Note

To provide the safest, most supportive, and positive experience for every participant, White Pines Academy (including both our Summer Camp and year-round programs) is not suitable for individuals who exhibit highly disruptive or aggressive behaviours. The Meet & Greet / Intake process helps us carefully assess each person’s needs and confirm that our structured group environment is the right fit for them and for the entire camp community.
