Fun Activities & Community Outings
Every week features a different exciting theme, so there’s always something fresh and fun to look forward to!
You’ll enjoy a variety of meaningful and exciting activities, including:
- Swimming at Peggy Hill Team Community Centre
- Fun visits to the Barrie Public Library
- Beach days with barbecues and picnics right on the shore
- Yoga and other activities at the park
- Outdoor games, arts & crafts, music sessions, independent and group activities, and various community outings
Additional Program Details
- Staff-to-participant ratio: 1:4 to 1:5 (depending on needs) — we welcome all functioning levels.
- Participant lunches must be sent daily.
- Public transportation and community outing fees are paid by the participant.
- Support available for individuals who require assistance with going to the washroom
Meet & Greet / Intake Requirement
All participants are required to attend a Meet & Greet session prior to attending Summer Respite. This session allows staff to review the intake forms, meet potential participants and their caregivers (if applicable), and ensure a good fit for the program.
Program Suitability Note
To provide the safest, most supportive, and positive experience for every participant, White Pines Academy (including both our Summer Respite and year-round programs) is not suitable for individuals who exhibit highly disruptive or aggressive behaviours. The Meet & Greet / Intake process helps us carefully assess each person’s needs and confirm that our structured group environment is the right fit for them and for the entire camp community.
Camp Details
Dates: July 14 – August 13, 2026 (5 weeks)
Days & Hours:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
9:30 am – 2:30 pm
Flexible options available — extended hours can be discussed based on individual needs.
Program Fees (Summer Respite Pilot)
- Single Day: $160
- 2 Days per week: $310 ($155/day)
- 3 Days per week: $450 ($150/day)
1:1 Support (if required)
- Single Day: $300
- 2 Days per week: $580 ($290/day)
- 3 Days per week: $855 ($285/day)
Scheduling & Payment Policy:
- We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to ensure proper staffing and the highest quality support
- Drop-ins and last minute requests can often be accommodated with 48 hours’ notice - subject to staff availability
- Payment is due every Monday for the upcoming week (in advance).
- Payment for drop-ins is due on the day of booking
- No large deposit required.

Note: All pricing remains the same for both regular bookings and drop-ins.
Registration Information: Registration is open until spots are filled. There is a maximum capacity of 8 participants per day. Early registration is strongly recommended to secure your preferred weeks and ensure adequate staffing.
Important: Fees are final and non-refundable (except in cases of school closure).
Passport Funding: White Pines Academy’s Adult Summer Respite is eligible for Passport funding. We will provide the necessary invoices and receipts to support your reimbursement claim. Reimbursement arrangements are the responsibility of the parents or caregivers. Payment must be made directly to White Pines Academy.
Payment Methods: Payments can be made via post-dated cheques payable to White Pines Academy Inc. or via email money transfer sent to: director@whitepinesacademy.ca. Invoices and payment receipts will be issued upon payment.
